David Smith’s passion for fitness and staying active has remained unwavering despite a major setback in his life. Once an avid marathon runner, David was forced to stop running after being diagnosed with hip arthritis. But instead of letting that stop him, he embraced a new challenge: cycling.

A year after recovering from hip surgery, David took up biking and quickly fell in love with the sport. Today, he is the head of the Cycling Committee at Eskaton Village Carmichael, where he not only continues to pursue his cycling passion but also encourages other residents to stay active and forge new connections through biking. His journey is a testament to resilience and the power of finding new ways to stay healthy and engaged in life.
