Volunteer Opportunities

Both individuals and groups are welcome to become volunteers for the TLC Telephone Reassurance program.

Individual Opportunities Daily Phone Calls
Calls can be made from your own home or office. Based upon your time and days of interest, you may be assigned 1-3 participants to call at prearranged times. After you complete your daily calls, you will be asked to leave a message on the TLC phone line. The TLC staff will follow-up on any unanswered calls or special concerns that you have identified.

Home Visits
Individuals or families may chose to make a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly visit to an isolated senior. You can choose activities based upon your interests and those of your assigned TLC participant.

TLC Office Support
If you wish to donate a morning or afternoon each week, there are numerous opportunities to provide supportive services. Completing daily participant phone calls, record-keeping activities and assisting with special event coordination are some of the services needed.

Group Opportunities

TLC's Annual Holiday Giving Tree
This holiday activity provides a wonderful opportunity to volunteer as a group. Businesses, churches, service clubs, schools or families can purchase and wrap holiday gift items for TLC participants, assist in the gift delivery or do both. In 2006 over 600 gifts were delivered to TLC participants and residents of Eskaton’s affordable housing communities. Whether it is help with the necessities of life, such as cleaning up a yard, or providing an added touch of caring by sending Valentine’s and Mother’s Day cards, opportunities exist to add a little joy to the life of a senior. The TLC staff can connect you to an existing project or work with you to complete an activity. If you are interested in volunteering, click here to print the Volunteer forms or call 916-334-1072 , 888-334-3490.
