Eskaton Foundation Endowment Fund

The purpose of the Endowment is to fund innovative services and technologies to support seniors in the place they call home.

Extending the amount of time that seniors can remain safely in their home is a priority for Eskaton. Funds from the Endowment will be used to facilitate the identification and utilization of programs and products that have potential to meet this important need. Current areas of exploration include:

Monitoring Technology
Television-based communication devices that enable seniors to see and be seen by family members and health care providers, or sensors that automatically turn off the stove are examples of items that provide support, safety and a sense of independence to seniors living alone.

Home Safety
Eskaton will soon complete a demonstration of the Eskaton-Certified Home. Wider doorways, adaptable plumbing fixtures, age-appropriate lighting and pre wiring for supportive services will allow for ease of home modifications as individuals age in place.

Memory Enhancement
Eskaton’s affordable housing communities are currently testing the Dakim [m]Power memory enhancement program designed to maintain mental capacity by exercising the brain.

Disbursements from the Endowment will be made once the investment goal of $1,000,000 has been reached.
